“The Loss of a Brother”

 

The Versailles Police Department regrets to announce the death of Officer William “Will” J. Robertson. 

 

Will began his career with the Versailles Police Department in January, 1999 as a part-time officer and became a full-time officer in September, 2000.

 

On April 3, 2003 at approximately 7:13 A.M., Will was in route to work on his motorcycle when a pickup truck pulled into the intersection at U.S. 36 and New Madison-Coletown Road.  The pickup truck struck the motorcycle Will was riding and he was ejected from the motorcycle.  Will succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

 

Will can be remembered for his dedication to the citizens of the Village of Versailles, which he swore to protect and serve.  He will be deeply missed by his fellow officers, friends and family.  May his memory live on in all of us who knew him.
